Two concerts - June 21 and 22

Just touting a couple of concerts - on at
The Winning Post which may at first seem to be an unusual venue for us but … the owners love the arts in general and are trying to reposition the pub in line with their sensibilities.
They’ve stripped out the seedy old function room and are establishing it as an “acoustic lounge” with wooden floor, limited soft furnishings etc., making it a great venue for guitar.
Children are welcome (and well behaved dogs).

On the Italian evening we’re including food (there’s a veggie option) - their cook is pretty good - not haute cuisine but good old bistro style gastronomy.
Bars are accessible throughout and it will be a less formal affair.

The second night is a standard concert of mostly Spanish repertoire from Giulio’s latest CD.

I really need to drum up a decent sized audience in order to pay Giulio properly (he’s a real international superstar these days) so I’m asking everybody I know to put the word out to family and friends even if you can’t make it yourselves.
Here are a couple of posters with main details - if you are able to copy, print and place them anywhere that would be great - I can also provide hard copies and flyers - laminated if required.

Thursday night is fixed price due to pub overheads but anyone getting a group of 10 together for the Friday night, I can offer one of those tickets free as long as they are bought through myself (01904 700 154).
Otherwise tickets easy to buy over the phone using the number on the posters/flyers.

Hope you might manage to make it for one of them!

Cheers,
Mark

From the International Guitar Foundation

Dear Andrew,

As the contact person for your guitar society, I’m writing to you in the hopes you can help spread the word about the International Guitar Foundation’s (IGF) annual London Guitar Summit event, which takes place from 19th-22nd July 2018 at Kings Place. This year we have a fantastic line-up with a two-part Leo Brouwer masterclass, David Russell concert and full-day masterclass, plus a stellar line-up of tutors, an orchestra class and student concert, and more, all in the beautiful and state-of-the-art venue that is Kings Place, and we are offering the full course at a 10% discount to all members of FGS-subscribed guitar societies. This discount is available through 20.6.18.

Would you be so kind as to circulate this notice to your members? I have attached a special A4 flyer containing the promo code as well as some details of the event. The full details can be found at https://www.kingsplace.co.uk/whats-on/igf-guitar-summit-2018/ or by using the short URL bit.ly/IGFGuitarSummit which shows at the bottom of the page.
The flyer can be emailed around but also copies printed off and circulated at any upcoming meetings.

As a fellow guitar society organiser in addition to my role working for the IGF, I would be most grateful for your help in letting your members know about this unique opportunity to be in the presence of, and learn from, all of these guitar heroes.

Kind regards,

Larisa Lieberman

From Andrew Clegg

I am pleased to announce that I have released a new album for 2018.

The new album is called 'Anyday, Now.......Everyday!' and it is a collaboration between English composer Peter Byrom-Smith and Japanese composer Nobuya Monta and I had the pleasure of performing this wonderful modern classical music. The music is a side step from my Latin music, as I am going back to my classical roots for this project!

The album will be reviewed in various music publications and will be played on the radio too, but you can get a copy first!

The album is available to listen to and download from the follow link. You can also order a Cd version (£10) -

Over 2018 I will be writing new music for another album of original Latin music.

I wish you all well for 2018 and many thanks for your time.
