For Sale (10 guitars)

From Keith Watson…..
Malcolm Brooks' last guitar, left unfinished by him in 2002 and finished by Dave Gregory in early 2016.

Top - Spruce
Back and Sides - Flamed Maple
Fretboard - Mahogany
Machine Heads - Schaller

An unusual feature of this instrument is that the neck may be removed to enable minor adjustments to the action if needed.
I suggest a price of £2000.

Best wishes

Keith

From Susan Kirby…..
This is an enquiry to find out whether you could help me to sell some classical guitars?
I have in my possession, 4 guitars of which three are good instruments. I enclose some details to enable you to give me some idea of whether or not they could easily be sold. The valuations were for insurance purposes. Three of the valuations were prepared by Peter Barton, a luthier based in Ilkley (in 2009).

1. Peter Barton handmade concert classical guitar in spruce and Indian rosewood, fitted with Sloane machineheads and including case:
Replacement valuation for insurance purposes (as at Sept 2009) £4,500.
Price paid in 2009: £2,165.
2. Montero y Bellido, Spanish classical guitar (made before the two makers split up), including case -
Replacement valuation from Peter Barton, Sept 2009. £8,000 (due to the rarity of such an instrument). This is probably the best of the guitars; it has a sweet, rich tone.
3. Amalio Burget. Indian rosewood and cedar classical guitar, including case. No valuation given but estimated value between £700 - £1,200.
4. The 4th guitar is probably a student model. I think it is Japanese.

If possible could you please send me your opinion from these descriptions and if you would like to see them, I would be happy to travel to York with them.

Yours sincerely,
Susan Kirby

From John Wright…..

Asturias Standard (Short) guitar
I am not a member of your Society but I am wondering if anybody would be interested in purchasing my guitar. I have played for a number of years but have had to stop due to arthritis in my hands. I purchased the guitar new in October 2006 for £1,200 from the Classical Guitar Centre (Birmingham).
It's specifications are hand crafted - scale length 63mm - solid cedar top - back & side Indian rosewood - neck Honduras mahogany - fingerboard Indian rosewood. My asking price is £600 and if anyone is interested I can be contacted at Stephilcar@hotmail.co.uk or by phone of 01723 370532.
I live in Scarborough but can come to York during the day if convenient. If you can put this on your board I would be most grateful. Thanks.

From RubyPaul ...
Admira Concerto Classical Guitar +case, replacement strings and music. Cost £175 ono. Beautiful design and mellow golden colour, solid top, mid to upper range Admira guitar. It is in excellent condition, 3 years old and having been stored in the case in a double glazed room seldom centrally heated. The top sides and back of the guitar are in excellent condition and the fretboard shows no signs of wear or fading. Machine heads all in excellent condition. It has the most resonant, gorgeous sound ever. It was by far the nicest guitar we tried at Banks Music. Here is a recent review of the Admira Concerto from their website: "This guitar is absolutely amazing.Very loud and bassy, but also quiet and soft. I have had this guitar for at least a year and it has not failed me yet. This is a great buy! -5 stars" Ree , Music Room (Banks Music York) It is suitable for an intermediate student up to a gigging musician. The guitar alone is currently retailing at Music Room for £269. It comes with a well padded classical guitar case in good condition valued at £37 new. It has accessories pockets, a deep pocket for guitar music, a sturdy leather carrying handle and well functioning backstraps. Also included with this guitar and case: Trinity exam board books for grades 3 and 4. A John Zaradin book of 16 pop tunes for classical guitar. Two new packets of puretone high tension classical guitar strings. Please note: There is one scratch on the front of the guitar about 7mm long and half a mm deep, not really noticable unless close up. On the case, the zips on the accessories pockets have lost their pulling 'tongues' but still zip open and close easily. A small pocket that was velcroed on near the top of the case has fallen off but it's not noticeable. The price is adjusted to allow for these imperfections.
